The Valley Writers

A Chapter of the Virginia Writers Club

Who We Are

Valley Writers is a chapter of the Virginia Writers Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of writers and poets, screenwriters and playwrights, journalists and essayists, and other publishing professionals whose purpose is to support and stimulate the art, craft and business of writing, as well as advocate the literary arts in the Commonwealth.

Our chapter serves the Roanoke Valley and its surrounding counties. We meet at 6:30 p.m. on first and third Thursdays of each month. Currently, our meeting place is the Unitarian Universalist Church at the corner of Grandin and Brandon Roads in Roanoke.  From the parking lot, go down the alley at the back of the church until you come to the second doorway. Once inside, turn right and follow the signs to the meeting room.

The Valley Writers Chapter strives to support local writers of all levels with peer critiques, networking opportunities, and speakers to further their knowledge of the art and craft of writing.
